Edderthorpe Flash

Shelduck 4, Pochard 3, Wigeon 2, Goosander 1, Avocet 1, Redshank 16, LRP 3, Ringed Plover 1, Oystercatcher 2, Wood  Sandpiper 1 on short grass at layby edge of Flash in morning, Cuckoo 1, Yellow Wag 5, White Wag 1, Wheatear 2. Over at Houghton Wash the farmer has decided to plough up the field, presumably to help it drain off quicker!

Farmer ploughing lapwings eggs into the ground on ENVIRONMENT Agency land.
there is a need for pressure to be put on the RSPB to make sure that their neighbours, who they are supposed to be working with, are not allowed to get away with this sort of action.
The publically owned land at Houghton Washland should be managed for the benefit of the wildlife and the people of the Dearne Valley.
