Carlton Marsh

I managed to get down for an hour this evening in the sun, then it chucked down again. Oh well, at least it was worth the walk. Greenshank, Redshank, drake Teal, 2 Grey Wags, one dive bombing a Little Owl that had a Wood Mouse hanging out of its cakehole. A Kingfisher flew down the dyke and 2 Water Rails were seen together at nearby Bleachcroft Farm.

Cudworth Common -this morning
The male Whinchat was feeding in a meadow near the Symphony factory and a Cuckoo was singing on the Common. 3 Brown Hares were in the Symphony compound. (L. Corrall & R. Hibbert)
