Broomhead Moor fence, Dukes Road, Stone Circle track, circular. 12/9/16.

Always a great walk but birds sometimes scarce. Breezy but warm and dry. Nowt seen or flushed from the moor on the way up apart from grouse. Not much better on dukes road but an adult Wheatear. On to the shooting lodge which was another tow with just 3 C Buzzard, 3 Raven and 2 Kes in a couple of hours. The lodge Swallows are still very busy feeding young. Things improved on the way down with a small group of 3 Ring Ouzels feeding on rowan berries. They flew up the valley but not far. Also 1 Whinchat, flock of 8 Siskin, Linnet flock of about 100, an impressive flock of 250+ House Martins feeding up near holt farm and 1 Curlew.
