Edderthorpe early morning

2 Egyptian Geese dropped in just before 07.00 (presumably the Broomhill birds), Avocets are down to 'just' 8 (17 were still present at dusk last night), Green Sand 1, and there were 26 Redshank yesterday evening. Still decent numbers of wildfowl;- Mallard 185, Teal 89, Wigeon 8, Shoveler 38, Tufted 56.

Yes, good numbers of Gadwall and surprisingly most are grazing in the crop field at the other side of the river in a similar style to wigeon.
I can't remember ever seeing a flock of Gadwall feed like this before.
