Wintersett 20.10.12

A cool, clear, bright and still  morning encouraged a steady passage of migrants. 
Anglers CP Vis. Mig. Highlights: Pink-footed Goose  110 NW + 360 SE,  Wood Pigeon 1150 S,  Skylark 27 S,   Meadow Pipit 55 S,   Jay 4S + 2 N,  Curlew 6W,  Common Buzzard 1S + 13 in the area,
Also here: American Wigeon 1 drake flew in late morning from NE corner of WRes. Common Scoter 1 female,  Egyptian Goose 3,  Goosander 1 male in eclipse plumage.  10 Whooper Swans dropped onto the lake at 13.40hrs.
Wintersett Res: Water Rail 1,  Goldeneye 2.  Also flying: Common Darter 1 + 1 ACP, Migrant Hawker 1, Comma 1.
Moth trapping last night produced:  Grey Shoulder-knot,  5 Red-green Carpet,  5 Black Rustic, Yellow-line Quaker,  Red-line Quaker,   Pink-barred Sallow,  Angle Shades and 2 November Moth types.
