Highlights for today from the lower Dearne Valley include: 3 Avocets at Houghton washlands. 1 Little egret at Wombwell Ings. 1 kittiwake, 1 Little owl and 3 Goldeneye at Broomhill. Also, 1 booming Bittern and 11 Goldeneye at Old Moor, and at Adwick 1 adult kittiwake, 1 short eared owl, 1 Peregrine, 30 Snipe, 6 Jack snipe, 6 Redshank, 45 Pied wags and 16 Meadow pipits.
