Carlton Marsh

A Whinchat was found this morning and a Little Egret was present most of the day. Also of note 2 Little Owls, 2 Kingfishers, Meadow Pipit 1 south, 2 Buzzards, c75 Swallows south this afternoon and our first Goldcrest of the autumn.
A Barn Owl was hunting this evening as a Ring-necked Parakeet flew over and 2 Tawny Owls were calling at dusk. (Dave Standish)

Migrant Hawker, Southern Hawker (2 males) and Ruddy Darter were flying in the sunshine along with 106 Speckled Wood butterflies. (Chris Parkin)

Fungi included Brown Roll Rim and Brown Birch Bolete.
