Carlton Marsh

Another very mild spring day with a high of 15.7c. really made the birds sing. Today's highlights were; Rose-ringed Parakeet, 13 Canada Geese, 2 Greylags, 5 Lapwings, 2 Redshanks, Willow Tit and Chiffchaff singing. Bittern was seen at the back of the wader scrape this afternoon and Little Egret roosted again. (Dave Lomas/Dave Standish/Tony Harding/Rod Heeley)

The afternoon's sunshine produced 2 male Brimstone, 9 Comma, 1 Peacock and 5 Small Tortoiseshell butterflies. The first Cowslips and Primroses are in flower. (Chris Parkin)
