Ewden valley, Wilthorpe Marsh 16/7/17.

Ewden lodge and return. Plenty afternoon sunshine with the valley in full summer greenery. Worth the walk for an adult Hobby showing well a couple times near the lodge. Still, the only species in number were the 6+ Kestrels in the area. Male Merlin was in the valley but lost to view around brown edge. C Buzzard scarce, just 1. 3 juv Stonechats were in the bracken at moor side but not seen on the way down. Also here a few Redpolls and Siskins. Wilthorpe Marsh this morning very steady with 3 Green Sandpiper, Little Egret, singing Sedge Warbler, only the second of the year and 1 Willow Tit.
