The Edge 25/02/2018

Wombwell Ings - Visibility improved from about 50 metres to 100 metres whilst I was on the Ings. Through the fog I could pick out 13 Canada Geese, 23 Wigeon, 2 Mallard, 1 Little Egret, 3 Moorhen, 2 Coot, 12 Lapwing, 50 BH Gull, 4 Skylark, 3 Mistle Thrush and 2 Song Thrush. On the R. Dearne were 2 Mallard, 2 Gadwall and 1 Kingfisher.
Bolton Ings - Took a wait of 30 minutes in the Cormorant Hide before the fog cleared and revealed on the open water 2 Mute Swan, 18 Tufted Duck, 14 Pochard, 10 Mallard, 9 Gadwall, 3 Goosander, 3 Goldeneye, 7 Great Crested Grebe, 4 Little Grebe, 8 Cormorant, 175 Coot, 48 BH Gull, 4 Herring Gull, 2 Common Gull and 1 LBB Gull. Also present were 4 Canada Geese, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Jay and 2 Bullfinch.
Broomhill Flash - ( pp. J. Seeviour ) Noted were 9 Whooper Swan, 28 Gadwall, 26 Teal, 25 Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 7 Shoveler, 6 Wigeon, 5 Pochard, 2 Cormorant, 42 Coot, 5 Herring Gull, 1 LBB Gull and 1 Common Gull.
