Our wildlife group were busy again this morning strimming around the bird hide and raking off cuttings on the embankment. Meanwhile BMBC bereavement services arrived to transport and fit the new Memorial Seat for our dear friend and colleague, Elaine Evans, who passed away earlier this year. Elaine was passionate about butterflies and moths as you can see by the design of the new seat. Paid for by her friends with a little help from our group.
By arrangement with BMBC Nature Reserves & Parks Officer, Russ Boland.
The resident Tawny Owl was sitting high up in the Sycamore again and 2 Cetti's Warblers sang.
A Little Egret was present with 2 Common Gulls along with 14 Teal and 6 Shovelers.
20 Fieldfare and 20 Redwings flew north and up to 3 Goldcrests were around. (JP/L & A Corrall)
3 Small Copper, 1 Small White and a male Migrant Hawker were enjoying the sun (C. Parkin).
As was a small 18 inch to 2ft Grass Snake, our latest date ever.
