Our female Mute Swan has abandoned the nest about a week before the eggs should have hatched! Presumably because the eggs were infertile.

A couple of hours moth trapping in my garden last night produced just two species, Garden Carpet and The Spectacle (2) as well the distinctive Sexton Beetle (Nicrophorus humator) that buries carrion.
