Scout Dike

Scout Dike Reservoir (incl. Maze Brook) - 6 Mallards, 4 Tufted Ducks, a pair  of Great Crested Grebes, two pairs Little Grebes, 5 Moorhens, c20 Coots, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Cuckoo and 1 Spotted Flycatcher.
The following warblers and buntings were holding breeding territories:- Blackcap (4), Garden Warbler (2), Common Whitethroat (8), Lesser Whitethroat (2), Willow Warbler (24), Chiffchaff (3), Yellowhammer (6) and Reed Bunting (9). The figures for Common Whitethroat and Reed Bunting being higher than previous years.
The following were also noted to be breeding:- Wood Pigeon, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Willow Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Mistle Thrush, Blackbird, Treecreeper, Wren, Robin, Dunnock, Grey Wagtail, Chaffinch (10), Greenfinch and Goldfinch.

Some good numbers of warblers there. Whitethroats are also in high numbers down here in the lowlands as well. Its Sedge Warblers that appear to be struggling - very few occupied territories up to just (and Cuckoos too).
