The Edge 20th AUG

Wombwell Ings mid AM-Highlight was the cream crowned Marsh Harrier that flew in at 9.10am but mobbing by Lapwings resulted in it leaving northwards. Also present were 1 Cormorant, 2 Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Mute Swan, 4 Canada Geese, 1 Shelduck, 7 Mallard, 1 Shoveler, c150 Lapwing, 3 Dunlin, 2 Snipe, 2 Black Tailed Godwit, 1 Greenshank(flew towards Broomhill at 8.55am), 1 Kestrel, 43 BH Gull, 10+ Yellow Wagtail and 6+ Pied Wagtail.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Noted were 8 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 27 Little Grebe, 1 Mute Swan +2y, 3 Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 21 Mallard, 19 Tufted Duck, 8+ Gadwall, 4 Shoveler, 1 Garganey(seen early AM leaving Wombwell Ings by J.Hewitt), 80+ Lapwing, 1 Black Tailed Godwit, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 17 BH Gull and 1 Barn Owl.
Bolton Ings early PM-Present were 4 Cormorant, 3 Grey Heron, 9 Little Grebe, 6a+2y Great Crested Grebe, 2 Mute Swan +6y, 53 Greylag, 14 Canada Geese, 45 Gadwall, 12 Tufted Duck, 6 Shoveler, 3 Pochard, 3 Mallard, 14 Lapwing, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 2 Green Woodpecker, 1 Kingfisher and 1 Swift.
