Carlton Marsh

80 Wood Pigeons flew west at 07.35hrs. (K. Bannister) Visitors today didn't see the Bittern, but they were treated to great views of the ringed adult male Kingfisher as it hovered over the scrape in front of the hide this afternoon. Other birds present were Green and Great Spotted Woodpecker, Siskin, Redpoll, Grey Wagtail, Willow Tit and Water Rail.

A Common Darter and a Migrant Hawker were on the wing and a Fox was on the prowl.
