The Edge 07/06/2018

Wombwell Ings - Present were 18 Mute Swan, 24 Canada Geese, 16 Greylag, 1 Bar Headed Goose, 31 Gadwall, 14 Mallard, 4 Tufted Duck, 3 Shoveler, 2 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 10 Coot, 1 Moorhen, 1 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 7 Lapwing, 1 Redshank, 1 Oystercatcher, 15 BH Gull, 5+ Skylark, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Blackcap, 1 Linnet and 4+ Reed Bunting.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 1 Mute Swan, 29 Canada Geese, 1 Bar Headed Goose, 23 Tufted Duck, 16+7y Mallard, 10 Gadwall, 3 Pochard, 1 Shoveler, 4+2y Little Grebe, 2 Grey Heron, 23 Coot, 1 Moorhen, 1 Kestrel, 5 Lapwing, 2 Redshank, 1 Oystercatcher and a singing Chiffchaff in the car park.
 TPT - Singing males included 7 Blackcap, 7 Willow Warbler, 5 Chiffchaff, 4 Whitethroat and 1 Song Thrush. Also first for the year was a Cinnabar Moth.
Bolton Ings - Highlight was a reeling Grasshopper Warbler in front of the hide. On the open water were 2+8y Mute Swan, 20 Tufted Duck, 9 Gadwall, 7 Pochard, 5+2y Great Crested Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 43+27y Coot, and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 3 Herring Gull, 1 LB Gull, 1 Common Tern, 1 Bittern, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Bullfinch and 3 Linnet.
