The Edge 15/04/2019

Wombwell Ings - Present were 2 Mute Swan, 5 Canada Geese,  1 Greylag, 2 Shelduck, 61 Wigeon, 12 Gadwall, 11 Teal, 5 Mallard, 5 Tufted Duck, 2 Goosander, 12 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 6+ Lapwing, 3 Redshank, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 1 Green Sandpiper, 45 BH Gull, 1 Kingfisher, c40 Sand Martin, 8+ Skylark, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Treecreeper, 3 singing Blackcap and 2 singing Chiffchaff.
Broomhill Flash - Highlight were a male and a female Wheatear. Noted were 6 Mute Swan, 28 Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 26 Tufted Duck, 17 Gadwall, 6 Mallard, 4 Shoveler, 2 Pochard, 3 Little Grebe, 1 Kestrel, 4 Cormorant, 24 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 6 Lapwing, 3 Redshank, 2 LBB Gull, 1 Pied Wagtail and a Willow Warbler( in the car park). Early morning Peter Kent had a Grasshopper Warbler reeling on Little Broomhill.
TPT - Singing males 8  Chiffchaff, 7 Blackcap and 3 Willow Warbler.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 11 Mute Swan, 8 Greylag, 3 Canada Geese, 7 Mallard, 5 Pochard, 4 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 1 female Goosander, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Little Grebe, 65+2y Coot, 9 Herring Gull and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 2 Grey Heron, 1 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 10+ Sand Martin, 1 Jay, 1 Grey Wagtail and 2 Reed Bunting.
