Insects included Common Blue and Green Veined White butterflies, Large Red Damsel and 3 Broad-bodied Chasers. 3 Yellow-barred Long Horns (Nemophora degeerella), a micro moth with exceeding long antennae, were dancing in the sunshine.

I am fairly sure this is a Zebra Spider that found its way onto the log book as I was writing up today's sightings in the hide. How common is it Mr. Coldwell?

Wintersett - Another new species! 03.06.19

A new beetle for the Wintersett Area!     A Thick-legged Flower Beetle,  Oedemera Nobilis was found on a buttercup flower this morning by Pete Smith, near the main hide at Anglers CP.   Identification was confirmed by Mike Denton.  It is the only Oedemera that has enlarged femora in the males. The species is common in southern England, but there are only a dozen Yorkshire
records, all in the southern half of the county.
Interestingly, this morning, Roger Butterfield  @earthfast tweeted that he had seen (Oedemera nobilis) on the Steel Valley Walk, Stocksbridge, South Yorkshire. He had previously seen this species in the south of England, but this was his first sighting in the Sheffield area.
