Wintersett VisMig - another epic Mippet show + Ringing 30.09.19

 12 - 14 degrees with  4/8 cloud and a light south easterly.
Anglers CP VisMig: per Paul Meredith 07:00 - 13:00hrs and 16:30 - 17:45hrs
Another epic Meadow Pipit movement 4825  (our third highest count ever)

Going south:  Meadow Pipit 4825.   Merlin 1Skylark 169.  Linnet 71.  Swallow 123.   House Martin 25.  alba Wagtail 89 (including flocks of 10 and 14).  Grey Wagtail 4.  Collared Dove 2.  Mistle Thrush 8.  Goldfinch 40.  Reed Bunting 3.
Going south west: Chaffinch 41.
Going west: Redwing 2 (first this autumn).  Snipe 8.  Song Thrush 2.
Going east: Pink-footed Goose 32.  Golden Plover 16.. 

Anglers CP:  Common Buzzard 27  Several sightings of a lingering Merlin 1  Hobby 2 + 1 ruin field WRes.,  Peregrine 1.
Botany Bay: 1 Blackcap
Wintersett Res: Cetti's Warbler 1 singing in SE corner.
Cold Hiendley Res: Whooper Swan 4.
Lepidoptera: A  Red Admiral and a Comma on Pol ACP.

84 Birds were ringed:  Highlights were:- Chiffchaff 5.   Blackcap 1.  Goldfinch 33.  Linnet 1.   Tree Sparrow 2.  Reed Bunting 10.
