Bizarre situation at Wintersett
A pair of Great Crested Grebes appear to have moved their 3/4 small young 30 metres over a bank covered in tall grasses, onto another pond. Quite how they have managed this is anyone’s guess as they struggle to walk!
Four young were seen with both adults on the nesting pond on July 1st. The pair and at least 3 young were then on the second pond on July 7th, whilst today, both adults are back on the nesting pond whilst two small young remain on the second pond.

Does anyone know why work cutting vegetation filling feeders etc has stopped please
Squirrels destroyed all feeders and ate all seed.
Feeding stopped for the time being.
