Our focus today was on clearing some of the Glyceria from the outlet sluice of the wader scrape to allow the water to flow out better, when we need to reduce the levels. Some of the birds present were Little Egret, Cetti's Warbler, Sedge Warbler. The Goldcrest was singing again in the car park (CG).
Storrs Mill to Ardsley Viaduct (Yesterday 1/7/21)
Green Woodpecker, 2 Buzzards and a Grey Wagtail.
12 species of butterfly included 10 Red Admiral, 54 Small Tortoiseshell + larvae, 45 Meadow Brown, 34 Ringlet, 52 Speckled Wood, 21 Large Skipper and a very late male Orange-tip. Also present 2 Chimney Sweeper moths and 34 Banded Demoiselles (Chris parkin).
