All the common birds are settling down to breed and the migration is largely over consequently it was fairly quiet on the bird front.
So our attention will be switching to other forms of wildlife over the next few weeks.
Today's servey of the Western Meadow produced 1 Common Swift, 2 Silver Y and 10 Burnet Companion Moths.
Butterflies included 1m Brimstone, 1 Dingy Skipper, 1 Small Copper and 2 Small Heath (CG)
In addition a Common Blue was seen to the east of the reserve (JP).
