Carlton Marsh

2 Tawny Owls were in their regular roost this morning, but had moved out of site by mid-day.

A Goldcrest sang near the hide and 3 House Matins flew north over the wader scrape.

Butterflies included 2m Brimstone. A Blue-tailed Damselfly was the first for this year.

Francis Hickenbottom visited this morning and provided us with a new species of fungi - Hawthorn Leaf Blight (Monilinia johnsonii).

South Kirkby Industrial Estate
2 Grey Partridges and a pair of Coot with 2 young.

12 Dingy Skippers were the first this year. Also 21 male Brimstone and 48 Orange-tips. A Small Yellow Underwing  moth was interesting (C. Parkin)
