The Edge 1st May

Wombwell Ings mid AM-Present were 1 Grey Heron, 3 Mute Swan, 31 Canada Geese, 18 Greylag, 4 Shelduck, 25 Gadwall, 15 Mallard, 12 Tufted Duck, 2 Wigeon, 1 Pochard, 6 Dunlin(5 over 9.55am), 4 Redshank, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Snipe, 1 Ringed Plover, 3 LBB Gull, 4 Red Legged Partridge, 2 Grey Partridge, 40+ Swallow, 5 Sand Martin, 1 House Martin, 1 female Yellow Wagtail, 3 Skylark, 2 Meadow Pipit, 3 Linnet, 1 Song Thrush and 1 Lesser Whitethroat.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- On the open water were 2 Black Necked Grebe, 4 Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 34 Tufted Duck, 12 Pochard, 4 Gadwall, 4 Mallard, 1 Shoveler and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 2 Grey Heron, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Kingfisher and 1 Grey Wagtail.
TPT- Singing males included 6 Blackcap, 4 Willow Warbler, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat(near entrance to Old Moor RSPB). Also 1 Jay.
