Wintersett + Gull Roost 23.11.14

7°C  with 8/8 cloud with a light north westerly this morning.  10°C, sunny this afternoon, dropping cooler at dusk.  Frost forecast for tomorrow.

Botany Bay: Redwing 80
Anglers CP:  Whooper Swan 2 NE at 10.10.hrs.  Golden Plover 25 S,  Shoveler 29 and Goldeneye 32.
Anglers CP Roost: The roost held  a very good number of gulls for this date.  The adult, ringed  Mediterranean  Gull came in at 16.05hrs.  The sub adult White Herring Gull came in at 16.15hrs. The usual adult Yellow-legged Gull came in calling at 15.35hrs and a 1st W YL was seen on WRes earlier.  An adult, DARVIC ringed Black-headed Gull was on the rocks in front of the hide. Right leg black on white AYA, left leg metal.  There was a massive count of 1272 Herring Gull, with many coming  in very  late on.  Also Greater Black-backed Gull 130.  81 Goosanders counted at dusk is the largest number so far this winter.
NB Pugneys roost had the 3rd W Caspian reappear and 3 Yellow-legs, 2 adults and a 2nd W.  Orgreave Roost had an adult Yellow-leg.
