The Edge 24/04/2017

Wombwell Ings - A good day for waders with 4+ Lapwing, 3+ Redshank, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Common Sandpiper, 1 Avocet, 1 Black Tailed Godwit and 1 Ringed Plover ( My first for the year on the ings ).  Also present were 29 Greylag, 25 Canada Geese, 32 Gadwall, 12 Tufted Duck, 12 Wigeon, 11 Teal, 10 Mallard, 4 Shoveler, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cormorant, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 9 Coot, 5 Moorhen, 18 BH Gull, 1 Herring Gull, c50 Sand Martin, 2 House Martin, 2 Swallow, 6+ Skylark, 1 Wheatear, 3 Pied Wagtail, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Meadow Pipit and 2 Linnet.
Broomhill Flash -  Noted were 3 Mute Swan, 21 Canada Geese, 8 Greylag, 22 Gadwall, 10+ Tufted Duck, 8+13y Mallard, 6 Pochard, 4 Teal,1 Wigeon, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 8 Little Grebe, 1 Red Legged Partridge, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 13 Coot, 5 Moorhen, 5 Lapwing, 4 Oystercatcher, 4 Herring Gull and 2 LBB Gull.
TPT - Singing males 12 Willow Warbler, 11 Chiffchaff, 4 Blackcap and 2 Mistle Thrush. Also 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Willow Tit and 2 Bullfinch.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 1 Mute Swan, 7 Greylag, 3 Canada Geese, 12 Pochard, 8 Tufted Duck, 8 Mallard, 5 Gadwall, 4 Great Crested Grebe, 5 Little Grebe, 49+4y Coot, 1 Moorhen, 330+ BH Gull and 1 LBB Gull. Also present were 1 Grey Heron, 1 Mistle Thrush, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Cetti's Warbler and 1 Willow Tit.
