Carlton Marsh

A Pochard returned after a 4 day absence and was in the company of 2 Little Egret, 3 Little Grebe, 2 Shoveler, 5 Teal, 4 Tufted and a Kingfisher that habitually hovers to catch fish.

Butterflies included 11 Red Admiral and 1 Peacock on Buddleja, 2 Small White and 3 Comma feeding on Blackberry.

A Brown Hawker and 3 Migrant Hawkers were enjoying the afternoon sunshine.

This Harvest Mouse nest was almost destroyed during management work yesterday. The grass it is made of was still fresh and green, today it is more of a straw colour.
