Athersley Memorial Fishing Lake
June 5th ~ last year a pair of Mallard raised nine young to full size and today there is a brood of 12 which are all half grown. Also for the first time in the four years I have been watching this site - a singing reed warbler.
Hi Ian. Interesting. I was here doing a safety inspection on Monday and thought I heard a brief blast of Reed Warbler song from the Athersley end of the lake, just where the boardwalk starts. Like you, never heard it here before. Cheers

I was born and bred a few hundred yards away so news from here always of interest to me. Cheers, Stu.
