Wintersett + Insects 07.08.20

23 - 27 degrees,  extremely hot and humid with 4/8 cloud and a very light south westerly.
Anglers CP: Cormorant 9.  Common Sandpiper 3.
Wintersett Res: Goldeneye 3 females. The eclipse drake Mandarin was on the slipway.  
Reptile: A Grass snake crossed Haw Park Lane,  from the wheat field.
Moth trapping overnight revealed: Dusky Thorn 2.  Yellow-barred Brindle 1.  Oak Hook-tip 1. Double Lobed 1.  Southern Wainscott 1.   John Gardener had a Hummingbird Hawk-moth in his trap in Ryhill.

 Lepidoptera: A Purple Hairstreak was in Pits Wood.
OdonataMoorhouse Lane Pond: Ruddy Darter 3.  Emperor 3.  Small Red-eyed Damselfly 20.  Azure Damselfly 1 male.
