On the wader scrape today 2 Little Egret, 1 Green Sandpiper, 13 Lapwing, Kingfisher, 4 Teal, a pair of Dachick feeding 1 young,13 LBB and 7 Herring Gulls. Buzzard and Sparrowhawk flushed everything at one point.
Insects included 8 Gatekeeper, 16 Speckled Wood, 5 GV White and just 5 Peacock. Shaded Broad Bar and Dark Twinpot Carpet Moths were flushed and 4 Brown Hawker, 1m Black-tailed Skimmer and 1m Banded Demoiselle were of note.Littleworth Park - Monk Bretton
17 species of butterfly included a second brood of Dingy Skipper, 47 Small Heath, 2 Brown Argus, 25 Common Blue, 4 Small Copper, 253 Meadow Brown, 115 Gatekeeper and 40 Silver Y moths. (Chris Parkin)
For the Doncaster area birders, Keith Bannister saw 2 Red Kites thermalling between Hooton Pagnell and Brodsworth at 09.30hrs.
