Carlton Marsh

After a moderate frost the ground was pleasantly hard to walk on. The scrapes were mostly iced over and largely devoid of wildfowl. However, a small number of Coot kept a small area free of ice on the wader scrape for 30 Herring Gulls and a similar amount of BH Gulls.

Very few passerines were on show, the only ones of note were Willow Tit, Cetti's Warbler and a single Skylark flying over. Buzzard can always be relied upon (JP/CG/Dave Standish/ K. Bannister).

2 Foxes were hunting together this morning.

Dave Smith's male Blackcap was on the fat balls again, so that means its been coming to his Carlton garden everyday for the past month.
