This morning 10 Canada & 3 Greylags, 6 Lapwings and 2 Coal Tits (JP).
A milder more pleasant afternoon allowed to us to continue clearing unwanted trees in the Western Meadow. This ongoing work has been in progress for more than 12 months, but as you can see we are getting there.

Today's best bits were 15 Herring Gulls, female Shoveler, 3 Tufted Ducks, 18 Teal, 35 Gadwall, 4 Water Rails called, Buzzard, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, 9 Mistle Thrushes, 120 Carrion Crows, 50 + 8 Jackdaws south, Little Egret, 4 Jays, 3 Fieldfares, Kingfisher, 2 + 1 Great Spot Woodpeckers and a Cetti's Warbler sang from the main scrape (D M Smith/CG/D. Standish/D./ Lomas)

10 Yellow Buntings, 8 House Sparrows, 6 Chaffinches, 6 Skylarks, 10 Reed Buntings, 3 Kestrels, Green Woodpecker and 30 Fieldfares
