Wintersett + Ringing + a possible 1st.

Wintersett Res.  + Ringing:

A Yellow Wagtail flew south.

55  birds were ringed today

Highlights were : 14 Willow Warbler,  16 Chiffchaff,   11 Reed Warbler,   4 Sedge Warbler,   
1 Whitethroat,   6 Blackcap and  1 Coal Tit.
 
Cold Hiendley + Res.

40 Greenfinch,  40 Linnets and 20 Goldfinch were in the rape field. 

Pochard 3. 

Stoneheaps: 

A Red Kite flushed 23 Mistle Thrush from oak trees.  

Lepidoptera: Anglers CP:

Small Copper 2 in east bank meadow.

Brown Argus 2.   Peacock 1.  Gatekeeper 2.
 
Insect - a possible first for Wintersett: 
 A Corizus hyoscyami (Cinnamon bug) gatecrashed the ringing session at Wintersett Res this morning.
Chris Swaine spotted it on a thistle head. Also seen by P.Smith and photographed by RL Bailey
