Carlton Marsh

At least 1 juvenile Buzzard was calling, the drake Garganey showed, but is now in full eclipse plumage and can be secretive. A pair of Dabchick on the scrape have one very small young from a second brood.

21 LBB Gulls came to bathe in the much replenished wader scrape. It had dried up until the thunderstorms arrived on Sunday night.

Butterflies included 1 Red Admiral and 1 Ringlet (L & A Corrall/CG)

A Bittern was reported at dusk coming from the marsh over nearby Park Avenue, Cudworth as though heading for Edderthorpe Flash (Geoff Miller).

This Little Owl was seen on Edderthorpe Lane.

This parasitic wasp, thought to be Gasteruption jaculator, was found in a Cudworth garden
