Swan song?
Arrived at Broomhill Flash this morning to the surprise of a Whooper Swan on the waters edge. It looked rather rough to me and hardly moved and although it did have two legs one was constantly cocked-up high in the air. What is it about me and rough birds? To add insult to injury Mick Rushton had logged two additional fit birds earlier on that eventually left. A visit onto Wombwell Ings tonight, but no sign (all day) of Wood Sands' or Black Tern. Highlights: Avocet 5, Ringed Plover 14, LRP 3, Dunlin 7, Yellow Wag' 1. Not too much news from Old Moor so far, highlights being a Greenshank and a few Ringed Plover and Dunlin + the pair of Med' Gulls (Rough and Ready?).

Presumably the same 3 Whooper Swans were seen passing north over Thrybergh reservoir at 06:50hrs this morning - per SBSG website.
