This morning a Little Egret, a Juvenile Shelduck and a Greenshank were on the wader scrape. (Keith Bannister) The Greenshank had left by early afternoon and was replaced by a Redshank. (Rod Heeley)
This evening the Shelduck and the Little Egret were still present, but the latter didn't roost. Also present were 2 Kingfishers, a family of 5 Tufted Ducks, 21 Gadwall and a Water Rail. As darkness fell a male and female Tawny called and a Barn Owl was hunting over the marsh.
There were no Swallows roosting tonight, although there had been up to c150 roosting daily.
Also this morning a Swift flew over Keith Bannister's Cudworth garden at 10.02hrs.
