Wombwell Ings - Highlight was the Great White Egret. Also present were 248 Canada Geese, 28 Greylag, 52 Mallard, 2 Shoveler, 2 Gadwall, 1 Garganey, 1 Wigeon, 1 Tufted Duck, 5 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Moorhen, 68 Lapwing, 3 Snipe, 2 Dunlin, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Kestrel, 5 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail and 2 Linnet. The dead hawthorn on the Bulling Dyke, near the park entrance, held 2 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat and 1 Chiffchaff.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2a+5y Mute Swan, 84 Gadwall, 67 Mallard, 15 Tufted Duck, 2 Pochard, 15 Little Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 157 Coot, 6 Moorhen, 62 Lapwing, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 Dunlin, 1 Kingfisher and 2 Yellow Wagtail.
Bolton Ings- Highlight was the Marsh Harrier that appeared at 12.55pm, rested for a few minutes in a tree before heading towards Bolton west end. This was a much neater bird than the one seen last week. It had a more distinct cream crown and it was cleaner and darker underneath.On the open water were 2a+7y Mute Swan, 8 Greylag, 53 Gadwall, 25 Tufted Duck, 12 Pochard, 7 Shoveler, 6 Mallard, 1 Wigeon, 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Cormorant, 245 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 26 Little Grebe and 5 Great Crested Grebe. Also present were 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 11 Lapwing and 1 Kingfisher.
