Edderthorpe & Houghton

The vegetation has been cut around Houghton Washland during the last week and it's possible to see what's on there once again. However, most wildfowl and waders are on Edderthorpe Flash with the following counts being totals from both waters;- Teal 523, Wigeon 143, Shoveler 173, Pochard 10, Grey Heron 8, Lapwing 390, Golden Plover 256, Common Buzzard 4. A skein of 440 Pink-footed Geese went south-east high up at 13.55.
