Carlton Marsh

Sunny warm 20c SW lovely day. This morning 20 Canada Geese were languishing on the main scrape with 6 Shovelers. Further along on the wader scrape were 3 Cormorants, 20 Lapwings and 2 LBB Gulls. 2 Buzzards were soaring above as 2 Foxes hunted the banks. (Rod Heeley)

Butterflies on show were 17 Small Copper, 6 Red Admiral, 13 Speckled Wood, 3 Comma and 1 Small Tortoiseshell (Chris Parkin)

There will be some disturbance to the marsh tomorrow due to essential management of scrub.
