The Edge 01/10/2018

Generally, a quiet day and for the first day this autumn no Hirundines were seen.
Wombwell Ings - Present were 13 Canada Geese, 8 Greylag, 54 Teal, 14 Shoveler, 2 Mallard, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Buzzard, 138 Golden Plover, 92 Lapwing, 51 BH Gull, 1 Common Gull, 4 Skylark, 2 Pied Wagtail, 12+ Linnet and 1 Reed Bunting.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2+4y Mute Swan, 29 Shoveler, 25 Teal, 18 Tufted Duck, 10 Mallard, 8 Little Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 5 Moorhen, 3 Coot, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker,  20+ Skylark and 2 Yellow Wagtail.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 6+2y Mute Swan, 39 Tufted Duck, 8 Mallard, 4 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 4+3y Great Crested Grebe, 3 Little Grebe, 269 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 5 LBB Gull and 3 BH Gull. Also present were 12 Cormorant, 3 Grey Heron, 1 Buzzard,13 Lapwing, 1 Snipe and 1 Common Tern.
