Wintersett 04.06.20

A cold 8 - 10 degrees with 8/8 cloud and a fresh north westerly breeze.  Warm and sunny by early afternoon. Much needed  rain showers from late afternoon.
Disposal Point: This morning  Chris Swaine decided to join his family on a walk to the Disposal Point.  While there he had the good fortune to see an adult Purple Heron flying overhead to the south east  towards Havercroft  at 10.03hrs.  This is the 6th record for the area, the first since 1994.
Anglers CP:  Male Pochard 1 which left to WRes.. Little Ringed Plover 3.  Mallard young 4 small + 7 very small.  Canada Goose 56 coming in to moult + 15 young. Greylag Goose 8.  Oystercatcher 2 young.  A Common Swift with abberant  white patches on rump, uppertail and belly was picked up by Gray Speight.
Wintersett Res: Goldeneye 1 female.
