Carlton Marsh

This afternoon' wildlife included 3 Peregrines sat on the Ardagh Glass chimneys + 1 that flew over the reserve. A Tawny Owl found by Tony Harding was perched in a Sycamore looking down on us quite unconcerned by the path.
At least 8 Reed Buntings were singing along with Chiffchaff and Coal Tit. 3 Lapwings, 4 Herring Gulls & 1 LBB Gull were on the wader scrape.
Butterflies included 1 Comma, 1 Red Admiral, 6 Ringlet, 2 Small Skipper and 1 Large Skipper.

Storrs Mill Wood to Ardsley Viaduct 
Treecreeper, Kingfisher, 252 Small Tortoiseshell mainly feeding on Thistles, 7 Red Admiral, a new brood of 6 Comma and a Green Oak Tortrix moth. An Emperor dragonfly, 2 Brown Hawker and c30 Banded Demoiselle were on the wing. (Chris Parkin)
