Carlton Marsh

A Garden Warbler sang near the hide and the 2 juvenile Tawny Owls were sitting out. Both Whooper Swans were on the scrape frequently vocalising to each other. 47 Gadwall were present, the males going into eclipse plumage, and there was a mallard with 2 new young and a Coot with 5 new young. 8 Reed Buntings were singing along with a Cetti's warbler. 

A Fox was seen with a half grown cub.

Amongst the butterflies on show were a male Orange-tip and a male Brimstone, and Large Red Damselfy was of note. (CG).

Littleworth Park-Monk Bretton - Insects
This year's first Meadow Brown, 75 Small Heath, 73 Common Blue, 2 Red Admiral, 6 Large Skipper, 1 Brown Argus, 2 Small Copper and 4 Burnet Companion Moths. Also male Banded Demoiselle, 1m & 2f Broad-bodied Chaser and 2 Thick-legged Beetle. (Chris Parkin)
