A cold but bright and still day, temp 1c early on and only reached 3c this afternoon, a light covering of snow on the car this morning. Despite the temperature all the waters were free of ice. The highlight today was c100 Waxwings in trees by the river which flew towards the golf course after a few minutes. Not much else today and as usual on Webs count days wildfowl numbers were low apart from 103 Gadwall. Had a walk onto Old Moor and again very quiet, a total of 23 Pochard, 1 Redshank on Main Marsh, 2 female Goldeneye on Mere and 8 Goosander on Wader Scrape.
