4 Short eared Owls were active this afternoon from about 2.30pm and showed well, one doing a bit of wing flapping. One of the owls dropped towards the rear of the flash, and a courageous male Kestrel came in at great speed hitting the owl. The owl took off and the kestrel flew away with a vole in its claws. The Little Owl was on its usual perch near the pallets and 7 Lesser Redpolls were also present, feeding on wildflower seeds. (Ray Dye)
