Wintersett 4th record Marsh Warbler 03.06.17

16 - 19 degrees with sun, scattered cloud and a very light westerly. 
Wintersett Res: A MARSH WARBLER was singing at 06.30hrs,  and later,  caught and ringed.  It wasn't seen or heard after release.  This is the 4th record for this area, the last being 28 years ago!   A juvenile Nuthatch and 4 independent juvenile Chiffchaffs were also caught and ringed.  The first brood of  young Cetti's Warblers were heard calling on the west bank.  A Kingfisher called off the north bank.
Walton Hall: The drake Red-crested Pochard has relocated to Walton Hall lake.
Anglers CP: Oystercatcher 4 aduts + 2 young.  Mute Swan 4 + 5 young.  Grey Wagtail 2.  Greylag Goose 42.
Ringing highlights: Marsh Warbler 1.  Reed Warbler 2.  Garden Warbler 1.  Whitethroat 1.  Lesser Whitethroat 1.  Chiffchaff 4.  Nuthatch 1.  Blackbird 1.
Odonata: A Broad-bodied Chaser was cruising the west bank WRes..
