Moorland news 7/1/18.

Ewden valley.- Very sunny with excellent light. As expected not many birds but a pleasant walk to the lodge and back. Few highlights were c 100 Pinkfeet se over the lodge at 1-40pm, Sparrowhawk fem., 2 pairs C Buzzard, 2 Ravens. - On to Midhope/Low Moor where the light was poor. Again few highlights but surprises with 2 drake Goldeneyes on the res. and 7 Meadow Pipits down. Not much else apart from 3 Fieldfares down and 1 Kestrel. Roll on Spring.
