Carlton Marsh

This morning our wildlife group was busy grass cutting. A Goldcrest in Scots pine was our first this Autumn. A Buzzard flew over calling, 2 Kingfishers were on the main scrape and a Grey Wagtail was feeding on the dike.
New in this evening on the wader scrape, immature Shelduck, the first this year. Also present Green Sandpiper, Snipe, 2 Little Egrets and 3 Little Grebes.

A Swift flew south over Beech Ave, Cudworth this evening (G. Miller)

Painted Lady and Red Admiral have been relatively scarce this year so far, but singles have appeared in some Cudworth gardens over the past few days. Lets hope it's the start of a late influx.
