17/10/20 Low Moor, Upper Midhope

07.45 - 09.45. An attempted vis-mig session at Ewden Height was abandoned due to thick fog so I moved spots to a lower level under the cloud cover. The area was alive with winter thrushes and passing Chaffinch’s and Starlings.

Fieldfare - c300-500 hard to estimate numbers due to large groups roaming the area.
Redwing - c200-300
Blackbird - c20 suspected to be of migrant origin
Pink-footed Geese - 18 low ENE at 07.50
Brambling - 3 NW (1+2)
Chaffinch- c120 NW
Starling - c350 NW
Snipe - 4 ENE (1+3)
Skylark - 4 south, 1 returned

+ Reed Bunting, Grey Wagtail south, 12 Siskin, 7 Lesser Redpoll, Kestrel, 3 Crossbill, 2 Buzzard, 2 Raven, 2 Jay
