Carlton Marsh

The scrape was disturbed this morning as the BMBC Rangers took the boat out to clear vegetation on the islands.

4 Herring Gulls and 125 BH Gulls were on the wader scrape with 6 Shovelers. Elsewhere 2 Cormorants, 4 more Shovelers, Kingfisher, 40 Redwings, Cetti's Warbler, Coal Tit, 20 House Sparrows and 30 Canada Geese flew SE.

A hybrid Mallard x Gadwall drake was almost certainly the one seen at Wintersett Reservoir on 25/10/20.

The mild weather of late produced a very late flowering Cowslip. (JP/CG/Dave Smith/K Bannister)
